What’s My Story?!

Hey, I’m Chelsea and I have not lived a normal life.

I used to be known as “Chelsea the figure skater.” I would spend hours on end every day, all year round, training, and training, and training more. It was my entire life.

After 12 years of enduring the competitive world of figure skating, I turned professional and performed on Royal Caribbean cruise ships for six years. This allowed me the opportunity to travel the world, taking me to over 50 different countries. I was in a new city every day and had the opportunity to gallivant around doing whatever my little heart desired.

I got to roam the streets of Sydney, Australia, rollerblade along the French Riviera, sail through the Norwegian fjords, ride camels through the dessert of Lanzarati, hike the beautiful mountains of Alaska, sip cocktails at five-star resorts in Fiji, and shop until I dropped in Barcelona.

Sounds like the life right?
For a while it was!

Until it wasn’t.

I reached a point where I was simply living my life on autopilot, not appreciating or acknowledging the fortunate life I was living.

I felt empty.

I had turned my passion into my job and was exploring the most beautiful places in the world; why was I unhappy? This was the question I asked myself daily for many years.

Until one day, a friend (you know who you are!) recommended I read The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle. This book helped me discover the root of my emptiness.

I wasn’t living in the now.

This opened up a new perspective, and ultimately a new way of living that has changed my life forever, and for the better.

After a few years of living in the now, I realized if I wanted to take my self-development to the next level, I needed to give up my “perfect life” on the cruise ship and discover the impact I was meant to place on this world.

So how did I do that? I went to Bali, duh.

The new chapter of my life began with a solo trip to Bali where I did a 30-day intensive yoga training course, which built a solid foundation for the life I am living now.

Every single day we meditated and practiced yoga for over four hours and we weren’t allowed to speak, write, or read until lunch time (can you imagine?!). This allowed me the opportunity to dig deep within myself and become aware of the root of my unhappiness. It also allowed me to discover my true purpose in this life.

I returned home with a new set of values, perspectives, ideologies, and thought patterns. I returned home a new me – the “me” I actually wanted to be.

To make a long story short, I thought I wanted to be a personal trainer (which I will explain in a future blog post) so I made my way to the headquarters of Burn Boot Camp in Charlotte, North Carolina to become a “Burn” trainer.

Somehow, without any experience at all, I ended up on their marketing team as the Content Marketing Specialist. (You may have noticed I didn’t finish college, so I felt, and still feel, extremely fortunate for this opportunity.)

I wanted to be a sponge and absorb all the knowledge I could. I became the marketing team’s “Yes Man” and said yes to everything they tossed my way. I found myself doing email marketing, podcast production, graphic design, social media…everything!

I absolutely loved what I was learning and doing, and also the impact I was making on so many people’s lives. But I wasn’t living the life I wanted.

Deep down, I knew I wasn’t meant to be sitting at this desk from 7-5 every single day (I was a workaholic and still am!). So I decided to take everything I learned and take the risk to go off on my own and start my own business.

I now work with some of the top wellness and self-development influencers, producing their podcasts and helping them build their personal brands.

Everything in my life in the last few years has simply fallen into place so easily and I contribute it to my dedication to living in the now.

My life has been far from normal, and that’s why I want to share what I have learned along the way in the hope of helping you live a happier, more peaceful life.

I believe the energy we put out into the world is the same energy we get back.

When we learn to stop forcing life to happen...

When we surrender to what IS...

When we ensure our actions are pure and in alignment with what we want...

The universe works with us.

You can live this way, too. It just takes some work, but I’m here for you!

Have questions about me and my life? Ask me here.

xx,

Chels
